Jeremy Pentranka

Assistant Dean, MQM Program at Duke University

My career spans the intersection of business and academics. As a management consultant, I worked with multiple Fortune 100 companies to align their information technology with their business strategies. I concentrated heavily on the role of data within organizations, identifying creative ways to apply data solutions to business goals while balancing the challenges large-scale data initiatives impose.

I am currently an Associate Dean and Associate Professor of the Practice in the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. I have been the programmatic dean for the Master of Quantitative Management (MQM) program since its inception in 2017. I am also the programmatic dean of our MSQM programs, which provide the business fundamentals and advanced data-analytics training needed for decision-making in modern business environments. MSQM, designed for working professionals, is Fuqua's only fully online program.

My teaching experience spans multiple domains including strategy, leadership, economics, entrepreneurship, and structural institutions. I have received teaching awards for multiple courses across four programs at Fuqua, been named a Poets & Quants "Best 40 Under 40" and "Favorite MBA Professor of the Class of 2021", and won the UNC-Chapel Hill Student Undergraduate Teaching & Staff University Award.

Prior to teaching at Fuqua, I have taught undergraduate, graduate, and MBA students at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, NC State's Jenkins Graduate School of Management, Elon's Martha & Spencer Love School of Business, and UNC Chapel Hill's Economics Department.
